14 March
Musicians Against Racism
Gloria Cultural Arena, Helsinki

This year’s Anti-Racism Week starts off with the annual Musicians Against Racism concert on Sunday 14 March. The event takes place at the Gloria Cultural Arena in Helsinki, where several artists will get on stage to promote anti-racism. This year’s line-up includes rappers Redrama, Steen1 and Signmark, and up-and-coming pop group Vesterinen Yhtyeineen. The evening is hosted by Kristiina Wheeler and actor Chike Ohanwe.

As usual, organisations involved in anti-racism work are also setting up booths providing information about their activities. The event and concert aim to achieve national visibility for the anti-racism work that is performed all over Finland, and increase people’s knowledge about racism and its prevention. On the same day there will be a Kids Against Racism event at 12:00 pm.

The 2010 Musicians Against Racism concert is coordinated by NoRa – No Racism, a collaborative project by Save the Children and the City of Helsinki’s Youth Department. The United Nations’ Anti-Racism day is held annually on 21 March.
